They were so little! What happened? It went by so fast because I sure don’t remember blinking long enough for this much time to have flown passed already. oh, How time flies!

It doesn’t seem that long ago that they were toddlin’ along, insisting on walking as soon as they could. This has been an extremely exciting, yet also an extremely saddening occasion for me. On the one hand, I’ve been allowed to witness them first hand absorbing the world around them and trying to catch as much of it as they possibly could while it passed by so quickly. If only they knew how much quicker time seems to pass as you get older.

On the other hand, it’s as equally sad because each exciting “step” they take brings them a bit closer to a sense of independence and less of a need for help from Mom. Now, I’m definitely not kidding myself, I know there will always be that level of needing your mom. We don’t get out of work that easily, but I suspect it’s a different, yet as equally rewarding (hopefully) type of dependence.

How Time Flies

However, one of the most rewarding aspects of this journey has been watching them each develop into their own persons. To watch them develop their own personalities, their own interests, their own aspirations. To see how they’re so different from each other, but still so much alike. Wondering what the future might hold for each one. Such is life… no matter how ready you think you are mentally, you’re never actually ready for how time flies.
